UPCOMING EXHIBITIONS and SHOWS

"Desert Beauty: A Photographic Journey Into America's Great Southwest"

DATE: April 2026

Location: House of Travel, 17813 Biscayne Blvd., Aventura, Florida 33160

Time: TBD

This is my FIRST private exhibition, and it will be an informal, "happy hour" event.  On display will be many of my best images from my adventures in the Southwestern U.S.  During the exhibition you will have the chance to speak with me about my work and learn more about the destinations and the stories behind the art.  All of the artwork on display will be available for purchase.

This event will be hosted and sponsored by House of Travel.

Although you don't need to register to attend, I'm adding the registration to get an idea of how many people may show for "happy hour" purposes.

WORKSHOPS

Starting this year, I will be conducting in-the-field workshops to educate participants about the area wildlife and their habitat, the local landscapes, and photographic techniques, as well as sharing my experiences around the U.S. and the world.  These workshops will be open to a limited number of participants that register and pay in advance.

Florida's Birds: Nesting Season

Locations: Wakodahatchee Wetlands and Green Cay Wetlands, Delray Beach, Florida

Dates: March 7, 8, 14, 15, 21, 22, 28, and 29

This workshop will be a 4 to 6-hour guided workshop where participants will have the opportunity to explore and observe some of South Florida's most recognizable birds during nesting season. The goal of this workshop is to educate you about these birds, their habitats, mating and nesting behaviors, identify the various species of birds observed, and learn the photographic techniques to create beautiful and powerful images that tell their stories.

Our day will begin in the morning when Wakodahatchee opens its gates.  We spend 2-3 hours here photographing and discussing the species we observe before heading to Green Cay Wetlands for another 2-3 hours of observation and photographic discovery.

During this workshop, you can expect to see numerous species nesting including Wood Storks (especially at Wakodahatchee), several species of Herons and Egrets, Anhingas and Cormorants, ducks and grebes, songbirds, and maybe we'll get lucky and see a few hawks, Roseate Spoonbills, and some hatchlings (depending on the time of the season).

IMPORTANT!  Some of the boardwalks in these two locations allow us to get very close to our subjects.  During these workshops, we will ALWAYS respect the wildlife and their habitats, and we don't touch the birds, their nests, or their habitat.  Remember, we are THEIR guests in their homes!

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING: You'll need to bring your DSLR or film camera (cell phones for these workshops is NOT recommended), extra batteries, and a watchful eye!  We will provide beverages, some snacks, and handouts about the parks and some of its "residents".

"Hello World" was taken at Wakodahatchee Wetlands during nesting season.  This Green Heron hatching was less than a couple of weeks old when I captured this image.  I had been following this nest for some time, just waiting for the eggs to hatch.  This is just one of many amazing images one can capture during this special time of the year in South Florida.
