The Beauty of Black & White Photography 

A World Without Color
 

I was 15 years old when I held my first 35mm camera in my hands and peered through the viewfinder.  This was the time before digital photography.  There was no auto-focus, and creating a beautiful image took a little more time as one had to choose the subject wisely, adjust the ISO and f-stop, and focus manually with the hope that the images would come out to satisfaction.  There were times I would shoot an entire roll of film with NO images of value. And, until I began processing my own film, I would run to the local pharmacy to have my film developed. Those were some of the "good 'ol" days.

Today, digital photography is the norm.  Auto-focus is the standard, and a must.  Lighting and aperture settings can be set automatically.  Shooting random images at will in rapid fire mode and saving the best images is regular occurrence. And most importantly, post-processing an image is commonplace among professional and amateur photographers alike.
